From Sue Stock (sstock@lansing.gannett.com):

Hi everyone,
Sorry for the last-minute notice, but if anyone's going to be in Newark tomorrow (Monday, the 22nd), I'm going to be floating around town for most of the afternoon. Currently my plans are to hit Kate's around 5 or so for dinner. If anyone wants to come for a mini reunion, I'd love to see you. Happy holidays, and Go Blue Hens!!!

Sue

From Oakland Childers: I'd just like to point out that Oakland Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon was a Blue Hen, and he took his team to the super bowl last year. So it's not fair to say, Dr. Lewis, that most people haven't thought about Delaware football recently.
LLLLLEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

By the way, my Web site should be up this week. check it out:

From Rob Wherry:

For any one in New York City: I was wondering if the championship football game might make for the perfect excuse to get together and have a beer. Is any one interested in doing that? According to Lewis its Friday at 7. Email me at rwherry@forbes.com

From Michael Lewis (sweetlew2@hotmail.com):

I'm sure most of you haven't thought of the Delaware football team in a long time, but just thought I'd let everyone know that our beloved Blue Hens are playing for the I-AA national championship this Friday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m. in Tennessee against Colgate. The game will be televised on ESPN2. I expect a huge parade down Main St. if they win, dammit!

From Peter Bothum (pbothum@ydr.com):

Bouncing off what Oakland said, I saw Coarlie Pride on the Food Channel two weeks ago talking about curly fries and Irish potatoes. Then a few days later, I read a piece by Keith Winerdogger in Vanity Fair about jungling out of trees. And then yesterday, I went to see "School of Rock" and spotted The Lew -- he had a bit-part as a bodysurfer.

I got so excited I took a crap in a nearby cactus.

From Oakland L. Childers (Oaklc16@aol.com):
I saw McKay Jenkins on the History Channel yesterday talking about avalanches. I thought you folks might be interested. Also, did everyone read Ted Spiker's story in Oprah a few months back? Good stuff kids!

From Glenn Slavin (gslavin@aol.com): Knowing that Review alum are the best around, I'd like to make a call for freelancers. The production team that produces Yankees Magazine is expanding to include a new title. Money has been raised, the editorial vision has been realized, newsstand distribution is assured. The audience is the prime demo of 25-49 year olds (but decidedly not like Maxim or FHM). We need quality writers. Compensation will be low at first until we get established--and this is an idea just waiting to take off.

E-mail me and I'll go into more detail. We can talk about existing story ideas that need an author or I am open to pitches.
